The 2008 Raimun 12 Meses is actually a Vino de la Tierra rather than a Cigales DO wine. The average age of the Tempranillo vines is 80 years, and it is aged in American and French oak for 12 months. It offers an attractive nose of blackberry, wild hedgerow, red cherries and pressed flowers. The palate is medium-bodied with supple ripe tannins, plenty of dusky black fruit – black plum, raspberry and a touch of black tea. The finish exhibits good weight in the mouth – perhaps more so than the Sinforiano Reserva. This should drink well for 3-5 years. Drink now-2018.
