The 1991 Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru les Baudes testifies just how good this vintage was. The nose is well defined, stern at first but opening with aeration to reveal rustic red berry fruit that coalesce and attain impressive focus. The palate is again, just a little rigid at first, but is well balanced and harmonious, building for the first 20 minutes; but then I did notice some oxidation creeping in, so that afterwards this Chambolle had already peaked. Don't worry about decanting this - pop and pour, then enjoy. Tasted September 2015.
