The oak-aged 1990 Cuvee Prestige, made from 50-year old vines, of which 80% were Grenache and 20% Syrah, is a special wine, although quantities are limited. The color is a saturated deep ruby/purple, and the nose offers up smoky, toasty, blackcurrant aromas. In the mouth, there is excellent ripeness, a velvety texture, and a lush, heady, complete finish. This big, rich wine should drink well for at least 5-6 years. Chateau de Campuget is the top estate in the arid, windswept, Provencal region of Nimes. Importer: Robert Kacher, Washington, DC.
