One of my favorite whites from the appellation, the Brunier’s 2004 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc is drinking beautifully and offers up fresh, lively and mineral-tinged notes of stone fruits, apple, citrus, green almond and hints of brioche on the nose. Light in color and elegant, with vibrant and integrated acidity, medium-bodied richness and a great finish, it is a classy Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc that will continue to evolve gracefully.
One of the benchmark, traditionally run estates in Chateauneuf du Pape, Vieux Telegraphe made an impressive red and white in 2004, both of which are youthful and have another decade of longevity.
