The 2014 Meursault 1er Cru les Bouchères comes from Patrick Essa’s 70-year-old vines. It has a detailed, chalky nose with touches of white chocolate infusing the citrus fruit. The palate is well balanced with a keen line of acidity, not as powerful as the Gouttes d'Or but with attractive walnut and spice notes on the persistent finish. Not to be underestimated, give this 2-3 years in bottle before broaching.
