The 2002 Chardonnay Ashley’s Vineyard exhibits a light straw/green color, notes of white currants, peaches, crushed rocks, tight, zesty acidity, and a hint of hazelnuts. A prominent terroir character is reminiscent of a youthful grand cru white Burgundy such as Corton-Charlemagne. Give it 1-2 years of bottle age, and drink it over the following 8-12. One can’t say enough about this young team that is doing such spectacular work in Santa Rita Hills’ cool climate vineyards.Tel. (805) 452-5609
