More reserved than the 1998 bottling, the 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon Père de Famille is marked with soft herbal notes, hints of red wood and elements of forest floor and fern with red and black fruit aromas. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is precise and sophisticated, offering integrated oak flavors before revealing a wonderful mouthfeel with a fine mineral tension. This will remain a food-friendly wine for the next few years. Decanting is recommended.
