The 1989 red Cotes du Rhone, an innovative and intriguing blend of 25% Mourvedre, 25% Syrah, and the rest Grenache, displays a deep ruby/purple color, a big, spicy, blackberry and herb-scented nose, supple, rich flavors, medium to full body, and a spicy, moderately tannic finish. It is every bit as good as the excellent 1988 Guigal produced, only slightly more supple and lush. This wine should drink beautifully for the next 4-5 years.Importer: Classic Wine Imports, Boston, MA.
