The 2015 Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru has a powerful, quite primal bouquet with hints of tropical fruit, beeswax and lemon thyme, though it does not quite possess the precision of David Croix's own Corton-Charlemagne this year. The palate is fresh and crisp on the entry with a keen line of acidity, tensile but needing a little more fatness to develop on the reserved finish. It should gain some weight by the time it is in bottle.
