Starting off, and a classic blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah, the 2011 Rasteau offers up notions of raspberry, red currants, loamy soil and wood spice to go with medium-bodied richness and depth on the palate. Nicely balanced, with sweet tannin, it will dish out plenty of pleasure over the coming 3-5 years.
While better known for their top notch Chateauneuf-du-Papes, Domaine de Beaurenard also produces two superb Rasteau wines.
