The purple-colored 2006 GHR Shiraz was sourced from purchased fruit from four neighboring vineyards on Gods Hill Road and received the same elevage as the WillowBend cuvee. It offers up an alluring nose of toasty oak, smoked meat, pepper, earth notes, and blueberry. On the palate it shows off an elegant personality and an impeccable balance of oak, tannin, and acidity. It reveals excellent depth, concentration and a lengthy finish. It will evolve for 2-3 years and will offer prime drinking from 2010 to 2018. It seems to be a symptom of the times for Australian wines in particular and the USA market in general that a quality producer such as Wayne Dutschke is struggling to get his wines on American shelves.Importer: Bluestone Wine Solutions, Carlsbad, CA; www.dutschkewines.com
