Now at 20 years old, the 1995 Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru les Cras is fully mature. The nose is just a little disjointed at first, but it coalesces in the glass to reveal attractive undergrowth-tinged, rustic red berry fruit that perhaps lacks the charm of the magnum of 2000. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins, decent rustic red berry fruit laced with black tea and spice, however, I find the finish just a little foursquare with age. Still giving pleasure, that said, I would not leave the 1995 for too much longer. Tasted September 2015.
