The 2007 Gewurztraminer Kolbenhof is gorgeous. The wine reveals layer after layer of lime peel, pears, spices and passion fruit. This medium-bodied Gewurztraminer possesses enough acidity and freshness to continue to drink well for another decade or so, although I would prefer to enjoy it on the young side. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2012. Once again, I left my tasting of the Hofst?tter line-up feeling that the estate could be more consistent across the board, especially with their entry-level wines.
