One of the lighter, less-concentrated wines from Meo-Camuzet is the Vosne-Romanee Les Chaumes. Made from the estate's youngest vines, it is a very good wine, but it does not possess the complexity and depth of some of the other cuvees. It exhibits plenty of black fruit in the nose and flavors, as well as significant tannin in the finish. Give it 4-5 years of cellaring; it should last for 10-12 years. Meo-Camuzet's 1993s are unquestionably successes for the vintage. All the wines were bottled in April, 1995 without fining or filtration.
