The 1991 Clos de Vougeot is more complete than most of the other Jadot grand crus. Deep ruby-colored, with a forceful nose of cassis and plummy fruit, this medium to full-bodied, spicy, dense, chewy wine lacks complexity, but offers a big, juicy, firm, tannic mouthful of burgundy that should age well for 10-15 years. Importer: Kobrand, Inc., New York, NY.
NOTES ON THE 1992s FROM BARREL: Jadot's 1992 reds appear to be fruitier, more charming and attractive wines than the 1991s. Not as powerful nor as tannic as the 1991s, they display seductive, velvety textures and loads of sweet fruit. They are particularly strong in Jadot's extensive Cote de Beaune portfolio. Moreover, prices for the 1992s will be lower, making them attractive buys.
