Charlopin's most notable wine is Clos St.-Denis. Its saturated color is followed by a bouquet that explodes from the glass with wonderful aromas of sweet black-raspberries, cedar, herbs, new oak, and spices. In the mouth, there is a layered texture, admirable opulence, and superb concentration. Soft and unctuous, its finish lasts for well over a minute. Unfortunately, only 75 cases (3 barrels) were made. Drink it over the next decade.
