From Coury clones planted in 1971, the 2012 Pinot Noir Coury is matured in about 60% new oak, although that is neatly disguised within the brambly red berry fruit on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, fleshy red berry fruit with shades of brown spices, and a structured but satisfying finish. Give this more masculine Pinot Noir a year in bottle and it should turn into pleasing Pinot Noir.
