Tasted blind at the Southwold Bordeaux tasting. For some reason, the 2012 Branas Grand Poujeaux did not show well either in barrel or just after bottling, however, it has subsequently turned into a respectable Moulis. Here, it has a light tobacco-scented bouquet, dark berry fruit with light earthy tones. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannin but sufficient fruit, the acidity well judged with a touch of graphite on the finish. This echoes the positive sentiments expressed by Robert Parker in his evaluation in early 2015. Tasted January 2016.
