Tasted OnceAfter tasting the 1945 Certan de May blind I was convinced it was either Petrus or a great vintage of Trotanoy. It exhibits an opaque garnet color, and a huge nose of sweet plums, black-raspberries, thyme, and grilled meats. Spectacular in the mouth, with a wonderful, sweet, inner-core of fruit and an unctuously-textured, glycerin-imbued, heady, alcoholic finish, with enough concentration to conceal most of its tannin, this massive wine should drink well for 20 more years.
