As so many tasting notes in this issue indicate, 1991 was an exceptional vintage in France's southern Languedoc-Roussillon region. Unlike most of northern France, this region had no problems with the rain that plagued many of France's vignerons. This domaine's 1991 Sauvignon Blanc is unquestionably one of the best from this region of France. It exhibits a big, spicy, herb-scented bouquet, bold, rich, dramatic flavors, medium to full body, and a powerful finish. One does not usually find this kind of flavor authority and intensity for under $15. Drink it over the next year.Importers: Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant, Berkeley, CA and Blanchon Cellars, Ft.
