The 2009 Cote Rotie Blonde de Seigneur is a seductive Cote Rotie with a dark ruby/purple-tinged color as well as notes of black olives intermixed with raspberries, black currants, sweet cherries and toasty new oak. Medium-bodied and elegant with adequate acidity, sweet tannin and excellent concentration, this forward, drinkable Cote Rotie should keep for 10-15 years.
Vernay’s fame primarily comes from the family’s long time position as one of the leaders and reference points of the Condrieu appellation. They produce three dry cuvees.
