The 2015 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is matured in 50% new oak with no whole bunch. It has a powerful bouquet with burly blackberries, cranberry and candied orange peel scents, although I discerned a little more precision and mineralité on the Echézeaux. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannin, quite masculine for a Clos de Vougeot with good structure and quite a peppery, dense finish that needs to muster a little more refinement.
