This estate refuses to release its wine until it has had at least 2-3 years of age, hence the excellent 1992 is just hitting the market. It is a complex, multi-dimensional Minervois. The deep purple color is followed by aromas of smoky, chocolatey, black-raspberry, curranty scents, along with spicy wood. Deep and full-bodied, with excellent concentration, and a layered feel in the mouth, there are no hard edges to this well-endowed, impressively made, gutsy red wine from the Languedoc-Roussillon. Think of it as that region's answer to Chateauneuf du Pape (but Chateauneuf du Pape of this quality does not exist for such a low price). An excellent wine from the Languedoc-Roussillon, this Minervois exhibits an opaque ruby/purple color, as well as a big, sweet nose of jammy black-cherries, herbs, and spice. Rich and full-bodied, with surprising glycerin and concentration, this is a generously endowed, rich, chewy wine for drinking over the next 2-3 years. This super-concentrated, chewy Minervois exhibits a saturated dark ruby/purple color, and gobs of glycerin, extract, and body. Although not complex, it provides a corpulent, beefy mouthful of cassis fruit complemented by pepper and spice. It should age well for 3-4 years.
