An 80-20 Syrah-Grenache that spent time in a mix of barrel and tank, the 2017 Minervois Cumulo Nimbus shows off a fair bit of flashy new oak on the nose, which is dominated by baking spices, vanilla and cedar. In the mouth, the wine is medium-bodied and lacking the concentration to fully support the oak, finishing with some lovely wood tannins. After enjoying the lower-tier 2018 Minervois A Tire d'Aile quite a bit, this was disappointing.
