The 2010 Campomoro emerges from the glass with dark cherries, plums and tar. This highly attractive Barbera/Freisa blend impresses for its vibrant, vinous personality and fine overall balance. Best of all, it is a terrific value. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2015. I was blown away by the wines I tasted from Accornero. The 2009 Campomoro (Barbera, Freisa) is an attractive, juicy red loaded with dark berries. I am not sure that Barbera and Freisa are better together than they are separately, but there is no denying the wine’s sheer drinkability and fabulous overall balance. Hints of leather, spices and sweet herbs linger on the round, generous finish. This is another great value from Accornero. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2014.
