A brilliant wine, although some residual sugar is obvious in this Amarone-like effort, this dark ruby/purple-colored Zinfandel should be drunk at the end of a meal with cheese, or by itself. A blend of 78% Zinfandel, and the rest Petite Sirah and Alicante Bouchet, it boasts a dense ruby/purple color in addition to a big, tarry, melted asphalt, black fruit-scented nose revealing hints of prunes, plums, and figs. Deep and full-bodied yet surprisingly pure, it is unquestionably an after-dinner beverage. It should keep for 4-5 years.Tel. (707) 433-6440
