The plush 2009 Lytos is a blend of 45% Carinena, 35% Garnacha, 15% Syrah and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon from terraced hillside vines, aged in 95% French and 5% American oak. It has an opulent, sumptuous bouquet dominated by the new oak (60%) but with sufficient dark cherry and blackberry fruit to support it. The palate is full-bodied with succulent tannins on the entry. It is well-balanced, unashamedly modern in style with a plush creamy, silky smooth finish. Drink now-2018.
Agnes de Cervera was established in 2003, upon which they purchased vines around Porrera to create a single 95-hectare estate, “Les Argeles.” In 2010, this was augmented by the acquisition of a 40-hectare estate in southern Priorat, “La Solana” near El Molar, that included 23 hectares under vine as well as cellar facilities.
