The 2009 St.-Joseph 420 Nuits reveals incredible minerality, coming across more like a 2010 than a 2009. Rich, concentrated and full-bodied, with abundant blue and black fruits, powdered rock and a chalky component from the granite soils, it should be forgotten for 5-6 years and drunk over the following two decades. I have always enjoyed Alain Paret's concentrated, full-bodied St.-Josephs, which never shortchange on richness, intensity or aging potential. All three of these 2009s will benefit from another 2-3 years of cellaring, which is somewhat unusual for this vintage. They possess major extraction, full-bodied personalities and plenty of density and richness.Importer: Robert Kacher Selections, Washington, DC; tel. (202) 832-9083
