Foch, a hybrid known in France as Marecahl Foch, makes up the bulk of this wine, with Cab Sauv (30%) and Petit Verdot (5%) supporting. Smooth, with high acid, soft tannins and a hint of sweetness. Tart plummy fruit characterizes the wine; there is also aromas of pastry and lemon meringue. The finish is mouthwatering, with good fruit, vanilla and crisp acids. ——M.D.(8/1/2006)—— 86
