The 2009 Chardonnay has a pronounced nose of melon and pink guava with hints of grapefruit peel and a whiff of cedar. Crisp, medium bodied and zesty in the mouth, the palate offers a good balance between ripe fruit and freshness, finishing long with some lemon/lime notes coming through. Drink it now through 2014. The 2005 Chardonnay Frankland River ups the ante considerably. Medium straw-colored, it has a fragrant bouquet of toasted almonds, mineral, apple, white peach, and citrus. Medium-bodied, it has a smooth texture, elegant flavors, and crisp acidity. The wine is nicely delineated and has a lingering, refreshing finish.
