Pretty oaky, with a flood of caramel and buttered toast, and you have to wonder why they plastered so much barrel influence, because the underlying wine is pretty good. Buried under the wood is a dry, crisp Chardonnay with pineapple, pear, floral and mineral flavors. Give it a good decant and don’t serve too cold. ——S.H.(6/1/2010)—— 87
