There is a top of the range, pure Cabernet Sauvignon named 2014 Desierto, as the vines are next to the Bardenas Reales desert, 2.5 hectares of 25-year-old vines on deep clay and limestone soils. It fermented in concrete vats with natural yeasts followed by malolactic in barrique and 15 months aging in French barrique. It has a ripe and peachy character, not easy to find the varietal notes, with round and polished tannins and some faintly artificial flavors. Even so, it's quite approachable and showy. 1,500 bottles.
