The 2017 Sicilia Ficiligno is a blend of Insolia and Viognier. The wine takes awhile to open, but once it does, it delivers yellow lemon, apricot, yellow rose and Golden Delicious apple. In the mouth, it is expressive and lively. Tart citrus adds a subtle kick to the finish.

Viognier and Insolia make up the 2015 Sicilia Ficiligno. The contrasts between these two varieties works well to produce both aromatic intensity and a more solid sense of mouthfeel. The zesty and crisp side of the wine must come from the Sicilian grape, Insolia. The floral and mineral aromas come from the Viognier that also adds a creamy feel to the palate.

This luminous blend of Insolia and Viognier offers a very pretty and feminine juxtaposition of fragrant floral aromas (from the Viognier) against tones of citrus, peach and kiwi from the Insolia. There’s a touch of sweetness on the close.——M.L.(7/1/2011)—— 86

The 2009 Ficiligno is a pretty, round white that balances the varietal notes of Inzolia and Viognier (in equal parts) quite nicely.
