The 2010 Calico White is a blend of 36% Chardonnay, 27% Viognier, 26% Roussanne, and 11% Marsanne aged in a combination of neutral oak and stainless steel sur lie for 5 months. Pleasing aromas of honey, spring flowers, mineral, peach, and pear inform the nose of a crisp, flavorful, vibrant wine whose ripe fruit is nicely framed by the elevated acidity of the vintage. Enjoy this excellent value over the next 2-3 years. Annette Bergevin and Amber Lane continue to turn out excellent wines at very fair prices from their Walla Walla-based winery. The 2009 Calico White is a multi-regional blend of 42% Roussanne, 33% Viognier, 17% Chardonnay, and 8% Marsanne aged 50% in barrel and 50% in stainless steel. It exhibits a fragrant bouquet of spring flowers, citrus, melon, and baking spices. On the palate it is a tiny bit off-dry with residual sugar right at the threshold of perception. Well-balanced, vibrant, and savory on the palate, it will provide pleasure over the next 1-2 years. An excellent version of this wine, mixing together 39% Chardonnay, 31% Roussanne and 30% Viognier. It was half stainless and half barrel fermented, combined to deliver crisp, racy flavors of lemon cucumber, pineapple, citrus rind and a hint of pepper.
