Displaying an opaque core and purple edges, the 2015 Malbec Dreamweaver opens with notions of smoked plum, sweet oak tones of vanilla and coconut macaroon, sticky purple flowers and baked earth on the nose. Medium to full-bodied, the wine is open-knit and accessible, showing slightly steamy notes of sticky tobacco, blackberry and plum skin before moving toward flavors of chocolate ganache. The wine lingers with persistence on the finish, offering flavors of juicy tobacco, tart black raspberry and chocolate. This Malbec spent 18 months in brand-new barrels, 60% American oak and 40% French oak. Just under 1,500 bottles were filled.
