The 2009 Pinotage Reserve is raised in French oak barrels for 21 months. Like the Pinotage -11, it needs to work on its aromatic delineation. Nevertheless there are attractive scents of kirsch, baked cherry, leather and strawberry jam to be found. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins interlaced by crisp red cherry and fresh strawberry fruit. The oak is well integrated and the finish shows finesse and grace.
