The 2009 Chardonnay is medium straw-colored with an attractive nose of spring flowers, pear, and white peach. On the palate it exhibits plenty of ripe fruit, good depth, and excellent balance followed by a clean, fruit-filled finish. Drink this tasty effort over the next 2 years. Veleta is the project of Dr. Juan and Nola Palomar. Vines were planted in the obscure DO of Granada in 1992 and the winery began in 1998 with an expansion in 2004.
