The 2007 Camille Malbec spent 20 months in French oak. A glass-coating opaque purple with legs that ooze down the glass, it reveals an excellent bouquet of wood smoke, pencil lead, violets, black cherry, and plum. On the palate it combines elegance with power; ample savory flavors and spice notes are nicely balanced by enough fine-grained tannin to evolve for 3-4 years. Drink this lengthy effort from 2012 to 2022. The Mariflor label is part of The Rolland Collection of wines.www.rollandcollection.com
