The 2004 Leva Daniel is a blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Tempranillo, 15% Syrah, and 15% Merlot aged for one year in 50% new and 50% one year French oak and bottled unfiltered. Opaque purple-colored, it has an expressive nose of pain grille, pencil lead, smoke, black currants, and blackberry liqueur. The wine’s firm personality is notable for plentiful, spicy black fruits, layered flavors, decently integrated tannins, and a lengthy finish. Cellar this solid effort for 3-4 years and drink it through 2017. Importer: Aurelio Cabestrero, Grapes of Spain, Lorton, VA; tel. 571.642.0343 fax (571) 642-0505
