The 2011 Tempranillo has been aged for nine months in barrique, mixing American and French oak. It has a perfumed nose of ripe fruits, blackberries and strawberries with the wood well-integrated. It has a polished palate with good fruit, balance and length. A good, approachable Tempranillo at a very attractive price point. Drink 2014-2016.
Bodegas Beronia's main shareholder since 1982 is Gonzalez-Byass from Jerez. They produce five million bottles per year, which are widely available, since they export to over 100 countries. The wines are very good, if a little predictable.
