The 2004 Carramimbre Reserva is the same blend aged for 24 months in one-third new French and American oak. Purple-colored, the nose gives up pain grille, pencil lead, violets, incense, black currant, and blackberry aromas. Muscular and large-scaled on the palate, it is still tightly wound but promising. Give this dense, concentrated effort another 5-7 years of cellaring and drink it from 2015 to 2029.
Founded in 1997, Bodegas Pingon has 25 hectares of vineyard, much of it old vines.
