The 2009 Reserva is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah . Each grape is fermented and aged separately to be blended after malolactic then aged for 14 months in French and American oak barrels. It has an orange-colored rim and a developed nose with a mixture of oxidative and reductive aromas that mixes some boiled vegetables with hints of leather and meat alongside an acute herbal note. The palate is medium-bodied and polished with fully resolved tannins and a little lightness to the mouthfeel. The fact that it has 4.2 grams of residual sugar probably has something to do with a slightly sweet finish. 6,400 bottles produced.

The 2004 Reserva was sourced from a single vineyard planted to Carinena, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah aged primarily in French oak for 18 months. Medium ruby-colored, it has a slightly aged appearance. It proffers aromas of earth, mineral, pencil lead, cassis, cherry, plum, and blueberry. This is followed by a medium to full-bodied, concentrated wine with succulent fruit, some structure, good balance, and a pure finish. The 1999 Carinena Reserva is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carinena, and Merlot selected from the estate’s best parcels and aged for 16 months in Russian oak. Dark ruby/purple-colored, it offers a complex perfume of cedar, leather, mineral, black cherry, and black currant. Medium to full-bodied, the wine has a solid core of ripe fruit and enough structure to unfold for another 1-2 years. It can be enjoyed now through 2015.
