The 2007 Area Blend Shiraz provides a contrast because the fruit for this wine was sourced from Barossa and McLaren Vale. Purple-colored, it offers up a nose of bacon, Asian spices, and blueberry. Forward, a bit richer, and fruit-driven, it is a restrained version of South Australia Shiraz possibly as a result of the challenging 2007 vintage. Drink it over the next 5-6 years.
