Opening with aromas of baked apples and pears, the 2017 Columbia Valley Chardonnay offers nuances of banana and oak spices of vanilla and cinnamon in the glass. The wine is medium to full-bodied and well-balanced on the palate, with a focused structure and sweet oak expressions that dominate the mid-palate, making way for a sensation of lemons dipped in butterscotch. The wine lingers on the soft woody finish with flavors of lemon cookie that evolve in the mouth. It's a lovely wine that beckons me back for a second sip. Just over 2,100 cases produced.
