Medium-bodied and revealing a nose of sweet black cherries lightly dusted with oak spices, the 2004 Pinot Noir is also very Claude Dugat-esque. Its concentrated core of candied black cherries displays admirable purity, sweetness, balance, and length. Drink this beauty over the next 5 years. Let’s hope Bryce, who is battling ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease), continues to blow us away for many years to come. Bravo!www.brycevineyard.com; tel. (503) 852-6100 (Carlton Winemaker’s Studio)
