On the palate, it's medium-bodied and silky textured, smooth and polished in feel, showing ample concentration and length on the finish, which adds hints of orange zest, cranberries and exotic spice. Pale to medium ruby-purple in color, the 2012 Sangreal Pinot Noir explodes from the nose with perfumed red cherry, currant and pomegranate notes supported by accents of cinnamon stick, violets, Szechuan pepper and mossy bark. Light to medium-bodied, the palate delivers an outstanding intensity of complex red fruit, earth and spice flavor layers backed up by a firm spine of grainy tannins and refreshing acidity, finishing with excellent persistence. Pale to medium ruby-purple in color, the 2010 Sangreal Pinot Noir offers an earthy, red currant, cranberry and slightly stemmy nose with hints of moss covered bark, truffles / mushrooms and loam. The 2008 Sangreal Pinot Noir has a pale ruby color with lovely aromas of wild strawberry, cherry, peppercorns, violets and a suggestion of Mediterranean herbs. The palate gives a medium level of fine tannins and good backbone of high acidity going into the long savory finish. Best to drink it from 2012 to 2016. Since parting ways with Bannockburn, former winemaker Gary Farr has set about producing his own inimitable style of Geelong Pinots. By Farr does not currently have a USA importer but exports these wines to Canada (Alberta and BC), Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong and China.
