A certified organic wine, the Cantalici 2019 Chianti Classico Baruffo presents ripe fruit and lots of thick texture. The wine shows a bigger fruit profile than expected, and extra concentration is a common characteristic found in this vintage. Soft and velvety layers describe this wine. 20,000 bottles were produced.

The Cantalici 2017 Chianti Classico Baruffo (made with organic fruit) shows blackberry and ripe cherry from the start with some nicely integrated spice, soil and crushed flower at the back. From a hot and dry vintage, this wine delivers a degree of extra concentration and fruit weight that could stand nicely across from a plate of porchetta with fennel seeds and salt.

The 2016 Chianti Classico Baruffo shows precision and nice, tight black fruit, all backed by freshness, spice and tilled earth. The wine is a bit thinner in the mouth, but that makes it more appealing with a heaping plate of pasta and shaved parmesan. Baruffo is the name of a dog, born in a litter of seven puppies, that stood out because of his mischievous attitude and disheveled black coat of fur. His fun-loving personality is alive today in the 35,000 bottles produced of this namesake wine.

The 2015 Chianti Classico Baruffo is made with organic fruit grown in the Gaiole in Chianti subzone. The wine is slightly sweet and very fruit-driven with pretty layers of cherry, blackberry, Indian spice and tobacco. This is a robust and generous wine that offers more in terms of fruity intensity than it does depth per se. Some 35,000 bottles were produced.
