The Claudio Cipressi 2013 Tintilia del Molise Macchiarossa is a powerfully fruit-driven red wine. This is a mid-weight effort that opens to plummy, primary aromas of dried blackberry and Morello cherry. This wine does not see contact with oak, so those slightly spicy notes you taste come directly from the Tintilia grape. The wine finishes with a compact, slightly bitter close. Some 20,000 bottles were made.

The 2010 Tintilia del Molise Macchiarossa is a pure expression of Tintilia executed in a fresh and fruit-forward stye. The wine sees 36 months of aging in stainless steel and an otherwise non-interventionist's approach. Smokey layers of tobacco and dark cola are wrapped within the dark, fruity themes that dominate the bouquet. The tannins are smooth and soft and the wine adds a sudden blast of crispness on the close.
