The 2009 Colli di Luni Niccolò V represents a blend of Sangiovese (70%), Merlot and Pollera Nera grapes aged in barrique for 12 months. This is a heavily perfumed wine with loads of red rose, forest fruit and violets. The floral nature of the wines is its biggest distinguishing factor. In the mouth, it presents a lean texture and there is a pretty burst of fresh acidity on the finish. This is a great wine for cheesy pasta dishes or lasagna.
