The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Farnito is a darkly saturated and penetrating wine that is not overextracted per se. It's just really black in personality. The mouthfeel is polished and nicely evolved (tasted now eight years after the harvest) with blackberry, wild plum and raisin. There is a smoky mineral quality that fits with the finely textured tannins. This wine offers old school elegance. 160,000 bottles were released.

The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Farnito opens to an inky dark appearance and heavy black fruit flavors of dried blackberry and prune. This wine portrays a hearty and bold fruit profile that speaks more of the dry and hot 2012 vintage than it does the Tuscany wine character. The results are a chunky and thick. The mouthfeel shows ample power both in terms of concentration and alcoholic heft.

Dark, structured and brooding, the 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Farnito occupies an extreme position on the Tuscan red wine intensity scale. This wine is engineered for bistecca alla Fiorentina or succulent lamb chops. It needs a hearty, meaty food to break up that density and those firm tannins. This is a powerful and bold Cabernet Sauvignon (aged in oak for one year) from a warm summer growing season in Tuscany. The vintage heat is reflected in this darkly-colored wine.
